How We Gather

Outdoor Kitchens: The Pool House Kitchen & Beer Garden

The vegetable gardens, herb gardens and orchards support what the kitchen cooks. Whether prepared by a chef or shared in a communal cooking experience, the Pool House Kitchen and Beer Garden Kitchen offer the most spectacular views for creating community meals.

The garden produces year-round: artichokes, tomatoes, squash, herbs, salad greens, edible flowers. The orchards provide apples, pears, plums and figs. What the garden does not grow,the valley provides — Anderson Valley has some of the finest small farms in Northern California.

Poolside Hangouts: Days that Dissolve

The pool deck is where the agenda goes to die, and something better takes its place. Dive in before sunrise. Afternoon floats in the sun. Midnight in the hot tubs under a full moon with the mountains dark on all sides.

The pool is the social center of the Pool Side. It is also, frequently, a place of total silence. Both are welcome.

The Forest: Into the Trees

230+ acres of redwoods, oaks, madrones and fir trees. Dozens of found logging trails and newly forged paths. Samantha and Christopher lead hikes and forage black trumpet mushrooms, chanterelles and boletes. You can hike the same path a hundred times and it will always feel and be different. Watch the ravens roost. Listen to the many birds. Smell the earth. Gaze upon the Mother Tree, the remains of a great and ancient tree from which many beautiful redwoods rise.

From the Spirit Circle to the Spice Spiral and beyond into our multiple vegetable gardens and orchards, immerse yourself in the fertility of the soil, the durability of our plants and the potentiality of their growth.
